Enjoy our cardio room to relax: bike, rower, stepper, punching bag, ball, floor mat
A fitness centre just for you
Located on the first floor of the Hôtel de Verdun in room 8, you will find many elements to train in our gym. For novices or non-athletes like me, you have simple cardio equipment like bicycles or rowers.
Both have different speeds to train at their own pace. As a beginner, 15 to 30 minutes is more than enough and a television set is at your disposal to make you think of something else, especially if you are not too motivated. You can also listen to music or surf the Internet.
You can also use the stepper to strengthen the buttocks or legs, as well as a mat and balloon for sheathing.
For arm training, we offer a French boxing bag. For this reason, remember to bring your own boxing gloves.
This gym is available every day between 8am and 9pm, respecting the neighbouring rooms and under your full responsibility. If you have any constraints, especially don’t force yourself, there are many other activities at the Hotel de Verdun that are less physical.
To refresh yourself, you also have a bathroom with towel.
To complete your training or discovery, you can rent one of our three VTCs, the first two hours of which are free and then 1 euro/h, the cheapest price in Nevers.
Walking or running to complete your training
In our tourism section of our website, you will find at the bottom of the page an access map for all the walks you can do in exercise from 3000 steps to 12000 steps, or from 2 km to 10 km. These different paths that you can see by following them on your smartphone were made by Antoine de Wilde, a top athlete in running living in Nevers and traced by me on Google.
In addition, you can mix sport and tourism by taking the famous blue tourist line of Nevers, which represents a route of about 2.5 km.
For those who like to run, two paths are interesting, the Vert-Vert one, along the Loire river which starts under the SNCF bridge crossing the Loire for a duration of about 1h30 round trip. There is also another path after crossing the Loire bridge and taking the first left towards the port and then the canal. The duration is indefinite but it takes about 1 hour of racing.
Back at the Verdun hotel, a last effort with a sheathing session in our gym. Then take a hot or ice-cold shower and a good meal, and enjoy a complimentary herbal tea or tea.
